School Uniform

The uniform at Charlton Manor is practical and designed to support learning, safety and a sense of belonging. Children are expected to wear full school uniform at all times during school hours.

Expectations for uniform:

  • Black or yellow sweatshirt or cardigan with the school logo

  • Yellow polo shirt with the school logo

  • Black trousers, black shorts, black skirts or black pinafore dresses

  • Yellow chequered summer dresses

  • Black shoes or black trainers only

Jewellery and watches:

To support safety, learning and consistency, children should not wear jewellery to school.

The only permitted jewellery is small stud earrings and a watch.

Analogue watches are preferred as they best support learning in school. Digital watches are acceptable; however, smart watches are not permitted. This includes any watch that can connect to the internet, receive or send messages, record audio, make noises, take photographs or videos, or otherwise function as a smart device.

We understand that some children enjoy tracking their steps, which is fine, but this must be done using a non-smart watch that does not have any of the features listed above.

For PE lessons:

  • Charlton Manor PE T-shirt (house colour your child belongs to)

  • Black shorts or black tracksuit bottoms

  • Black trainers or plimsolls only

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU LABEL EVERY ITEM OF CLOTHING AS WE HAVE A HUGE AMOUNT OF CLOTHING ENDING UP IN LOST PROPERTY.

Jewellery

For health and safety reasons, the only jewellery pupils are permitted to wear in school are small stud earrings and a watch. Smart watches and all other jewellery – such as hooped or dangly earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, bangles and nose piercings – are not allowed.

If your child wears jewellery for religious reasons, this must be discussed with and approved by the Headteacher in advance.

Pre-loved Uniform

We recognise that in these times the cost of school uniform can feel expensive and also that replacing lost items of uniform at short notice can be challenging. The school is able to provide preloved uniform at no cost.
