Forest School

At Charlton Manor we are very lucky to have our own Forest School area. It is situated on the school grounds by the Hornfair Gate. ALL children from FS2 (Reception) will have the opportunity to attend our fantastic Forest School sessions. A group of 10 children will be selected from each class every half term to attend every Monday afternoon over the course of the half term (usually 6 weeks).

Forest School is child-led learning (under adult supervision) outside of the classroom in the natural environment. It develops their physical and mental well-being by being active outside in the fresh air and gives them a wealth of experiences as they play and explore whist interacting with nature. This, in turn, helps children develop their independence, communication skills, resilience and the ability to take appropriate risks.

Forest School is led by Simina Ghent, EYTA.
